About Michael
Michael Gar is a rising star in the world of elite triathlon, representing Great Britain on the international stage.
Born in England with Italian heritage on his mother's side, Michael brings a unique international perspective to the sport. At just 21 years old, he's already making waves in elite-level competition.
Currently balancing his Finance and Accounting degree at Cardiff University with elite-level training, Michael exemplifies dedication and passion. He's part of the Welsh Triathlon National Talent Performance Centre (NTPCW) and has been racing with the prestigious 707 Team Minini in Italy for over a year.
"It's challenging balancing university and elite-level sport, but it's the lifestyle I love. My objective is becoming a professional triathlete after graduation."

Career-best World Cup result! Bronze medal in his World Cup debut, holding off competition in a thrilling sprint finish.
4th Place - World Triathlon Cup Tongyeong, South Korea
Another impressive World Cup performance, narrowly missing the podium in Asia.
🥇 ITALIAN SPRINT TRIATHLON CHAMPION - Cervia
Won the national title in 51:54, beating Nicola Azzano by 11 seconds. Also crowned U23 Italian Champion!
🥇 British Super Series Winner - Llanelli
Dominated the Open Senior category with the 2nd fastest bike split of the day, winning by 15 seconds.
🥈 2nd Place - Europe Triathlon Cup Olsztyn
Silver medal finish in Poland (53:59), showcasing his strength on the European circuit.
4th Place - World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships Hamburg
Helped Team GB to a top-4 finish at the World Championships.
